OK, some days I do....).  A lot has happened in the last 15 years - but they have all been good ones.</p> <p>This is the card I made for him.  It has cute little love birds, but I tried to use manly colors.  And the paper has wood grain - wood grain is manly right?  </p> <p>I colored the images with <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=124_125">Copic markers</a> and paper pieced the tree top with the reverse side of the stripe paper (Cosmo Cricket Wanted collection I think).</p> <p>The images are from Odd Bird planet.  Kelly's tree is available as part of the <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_116&products_id=650">Relaxin' in Nature cling set</a> and the love birds are in the <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_92_100&products_id=651">Valentine Friends</a> cling set.</p> <p>I'm still frantically trying to finish Christmas projects.  Wish me luck!</p> Cathrine StClairhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10154723530865151059noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8800135657581783749.post-67667680553866836552008-12-17T16:59:00.001-05:002008-12-17T16:59:02.694-05:00Its almost too late to be early!<p><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_92_98&products_id=656"><img style="border-top-width: 0px; LOL  there is that l-a-z-y thing again!).  I usually leave an edge around it.  You can see it on the gnome.  Before I cut him out, I outlined around him with W-1 gray so he wouldn't have a stark white border.  It makes cutting out so much easier and I think it makes cut out images stand out from the background.</p> <p>BTW - for the gift, I created the dots by coloring the present green and then holding the tip of my blender pen where I wanted a dot after the green ink dried.  The blender fluid will push the green ink out and create a dot.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2P8Hp0oyEqOYxO7l_eAlvNj4lQIf9O4yEiUJUBPXbzvJLwOyisPnxRzk8sOiWNdLF2Dd5UjMm6vJJQrDdeqEIFEpJzYx-Zx_ntyTXIW0K6Fp96ppnfWNQYu5kEPsq6-chgrGS8jWw9rva/s1600-h/xmasgnomehome8.jpg"><img style="border-top-width: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px" height="354" alt="iomanger" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_DwIDV6pOC3iqr8MGS3knhSdtQd3i1ilfWFWYEY6mY3jjeh_AZ7R9LvYKVMHZagkHjM8pmVrAWm0siaFwfi4GZIgvL3KCH3do2M3ESX6TZqT_JZdhG5tyd1YSOfx-s9K01_6QvrIh3mrU/?imgmax=800" width="353" align="right" border="0" /></a> For this first one, I stamped <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_92_98&products_id=483">Manger Circle</a> in <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=70_117_118">Memento Tuxedo ink</a> and colored it with <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=124_125">Copic markers</a>.  I cut around the image and then mounted it on 2 circular mattes.</p> <p>(When I cut around images - I usually run a black marker around the side of the cut edge - so no white paper shows if I did not cut perfectly)</p> <p>I stamped the sentiment and then cut it out using a <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=77_140">Spellbinders Ribbon slide die</a>.  I love these dies and see myself using them a lot in the future.</p> <p>I used the <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=124_138&products_id=739">Copic Spica Glitter pen</a> to add sparkle to the halos and the star - unfortunately, it does not show up in the photo.  The paper is from K&Co.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid11G6LE3cC2mueWlQbYn4vxuorvkLWiBrAwzWzhHliS965lVxfLklF6_pEXaKXOMWoBglOtS5NbtemOaMGa0R8i4eIr8-pIHM1unDvaXM0jwc2kvv6PtWSxattQKI1uzqcYtqQwlwfVQS/s1600-h/Mangerround%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-bottom: 0px" height="308" alt="Mangerround" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJLaDciyOfngtrQW5iOAZhQKPAdpFYICwsDrNwE59XXzX02jhFRLNwxi0jYzn5QMKueMi-7TtuhwZ6SYdIr-3syLh1O0NGBAmCaNtL5kXVwcqTqThyvl6aSAHvC4e4j5fg_QCwQQIw8B9F/?imgmax=800" width="356" align="right" border="0" /></a> For this next card, I embossed the <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_92_98&products_id=483">Manger image</a> in <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=71&products_id=419">Black Superfine Embossing powder</a> and colored it with watercolor.  The halos and star are painted using the <a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=77_79&products_id=723">Pearlescent paint set</a> to give them sparkle.  This image really needs a fine detail embossing powder.</p> <p>I cut around the image as above, and then mounted on a straight and scalloped matte.  I created the circular card with my circle cutters.  Just for something different....</p> <p>The patterned paper is K&Co, and the gold is a really pretty paper from my stash - I think it came from Marcos Paper.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmBQKNtVmebiT2ATQKSPq3rWfbxvHOpwyop-GjxkR3hSf8qAQfGvnbvRjN0pAPqf9K0HbqyCCEGY-UqEkXWCugU2JGxwrBWWvv4ZnYET3HFUbQh0ITEx_ZgwptmgjFA7s6E9BhDvaTZ9Mu/s1600-h/Mangerblue%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right: 0px; Yikes again).  If you'd like to play along, just post a comment here with a link to your creation and I'll include it in next week's report.</p> Cathrine StClairhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10154723530865151059noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8800135657581783749.post-45116941995687254462008-11-28T11:41:00.001-05:002008-11-28T11:41:37.929-05:00The Holidays are here sale!<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlE175fF6EOrvvm_KIYUIqDKrWsd-MfPjmxs4dmYqP_0NA1JzI94U9LyecgzTS7A_uxS6I_MhZ0uKva7Pp5rGVtq4W6uQgCeJ4JuxspIbuoc2QbYTFFtjm-k-eAWxepna0Cz-UFpo-V8TW/s1600-h/winterberry%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right: 0px; plenty of good food to eat; warm, clean clothes to wear; and our snug little peaceful home.   My journey this past year has lead me to appreciate much more keenly how many people in the world can't count those simple blessings.</p> <p>I'm also very grateful for the customers who have supported my little store over the past year.  I'm grateful for <a href="http://durcandesigns.typepad.com/stamping/">Tracy</a> and <a href="http://durcandesigns.typepad.com/stamping/">Mel</a> - the design team that has done so much to help me over the past few months.  Without all of you, this little dream of mine would have died.  </p> <p>Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!</p> <p>What I used on this card:</p> <ul> <li><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_88&products_id=469">Corn Cling Stamp</a></li> <li><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_90&products_id=281">Expressions Clear stamp set</a></li> <li><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=71&products_id=220">Copper Embossing Powder</a></li> <li><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=70_86&products_id=242">Versamark Ink</a></li> <li><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=70_85">Distress ink - Dried Marigold</a></li> <li><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=77_79&products_id=333">Duster Brush</a></li> <li><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=77_79&products_id=723">Pearlescent Paint</a></li> <li><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_108&products_id=599">Ambrosia Paper Pad</a></li> <li><a href="http://papergardenprojects.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=77_104&products_id=296">Swiss Dots Embossing Folder</a></li> <li>Nestibility Dies</li> <li>Cardstock and ribbon from stash</li> </ul> Cathrine StClairhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10154723530865151059noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8800135657581783749.post-5922045426167356492008-11-25T07:05:00.001-05:002008-11-25T07:05:23.821-05:00Garden Party for November 25<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMq0n-Kpp6JyP3bqlRj8bBxzu34POAtox0VWPOlFLDRiZ8nZKz_OtrMaN6UoI_411oUr8tJN7AtHYs6_G-FuzAbQUsdx7ySJLOtQRrzO3zlacKMaA4C8fjV4INkREJqLjM-cvfXdy7W9C1/s1600-h/gpnov18photo4.jpg"><img style="border-top-width: 0px;
