A Garden Party!

I'm planning some revisions to my Blog - and I thought a weekly challenge might be fun. So... I'm hosting a weekly "Garden Party".

At the Garden Party, I'll share something that inspired me. It might be a blog, an ad, a picture, anything that catches my eye. Then I'll share what I ended up making.

I'm hoping some of you might want to play along too. If you do, please link your creations in a comment here - I'd love to see them! (Hmmmm.... maybe some prizes are in order).

My first Garden Party inspiration came from the blog Kris's Color Stripes. I find it absolutely fascinating the way Kris can take a photo of anything and pick out all these amazing colors.

Go check it out - it's really cool.

Its OK....I'll wait, I'll just google the weather or something while you're gone......

Cool huh?? I discovered this blog through a link on Stamping Mathilda's blog. Another blog well worth the time to look through (check out her blog banner - too cute).

So for this Garden Party inspiration, I chose the February Palette set of color stripes - the set at the right in particular. I love blue and brown together - but I don't know if I would have ever used both the darker and lighter brown without the color stripes inspiration.

So here is my Garden Party contribution. What do you think?

I think I like it. I used a really neat clear HOTP stamp set called Botanicals. It has a bunch of different florals - some solid and some open. And there are separate flowers and stems - so you can arrange the images and stamp in different colors however you like. The sentiment is from an Inkadinkado clear set.

Stay tuned tomorrow for my big announcement and some great blog candy.....(there is a big hint in today's post).
