Garden Party for March 4

For this week's Garden Party, I pulled this picture out of the "inspiration pile". I think it came out of Better Homes and Gardens, but have no idea when.

(sorry - my photo of this photo is not great, there is some glare).

Here is the card I created from it.

I tried to capture the blue pillows with the lace edges using the square of patterned paper. I put the strip of brown "Cuttlebugged" paper at the bottom to copy the blanket.

I was hoping the flowers would mimic the swirls in the headboard. And I added the antique brass brads because of the handle on the chest in the picture.

I'm thinking now that the circle should have been a square because the room is very angular - but I like how the image fits in the circle.

So what do you think? Am I close?

About this card:

I stamped Botanicals from HOTP and Au Naturale from Lizzy Anne Designs (sentiment). I colored the image with my Copic Markers.

I cut the image out with my Nestibilities and embossed the edge (see this post for cutting tips). I left the cutting die in place and used Distress ink in Vintage Photo with a duster brush to lightly color over the image. This leaves a white edge when you remove the die.

I adhered the cuttlebugged strip, matted the images and patterned paper square (Bo Bunny Anna Sophia) and adhered them to my base paper. Last, I added the brads and glued the front to may card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by............... Let me know if you're interested in joining the Garden Party and I can start posting the inspiration piece in advance.

Cathy your card is so wonderful - the colours are marvelous.Your idea with the inspiration pile is great.Maybe it would have been a little closer with the image in a square, but it looks much better in the circle!!!
