A funny fold....

I thought I'd share a card I made for a challenge group I belong to. The challenge was to make a card with unusual folds.

I used the Cheery Birthday Card Kit to make the card. The kit contains the stamps, pattern paper, colored and white cardstock used (along with a bunch of embellies).

So I decided to do a tri-fold. Although the top layer is only half as wide, so maybe its a 2.5-fold??

My base cardstock is 5 1/2" high by 10 1/2" long. I scored and folded at 4 1/8" and then 4 1/4" (I made the first fold 4 1/8" instead of 4 1/4" so that the flap fit inside easily).

I matted patterned paper in the inner and top flaps. Its the same paper, it just uses both sides. I stamped the dog image and sentiment and punched it out. The image is colored with Copics. I also punched a red scalloped circle to matte it. I adhered the circle on the top flap only.

I cut the white cardstock to 1/4" smaller than the flaps to fit inside. I inked the edges red. I stamped and colored the cake on one inside piece and stamped the sentiment on the other, then adhered them into the card.

All done!

Most of the items used to make this card are available at the Paper Garden Projects store. The card uses:

Cheery Birthday card kit
Mega circle punch
Giga scalloped circle punch
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Lipstick Red colorbox ink

Also - I've been tagged by LadyDoc. I need to think of 6 unimportant things about myself. Well, there are tons - but none that make for interesting reading. Hmmm... How about - pineapple often makes my tongue itch? Sigh....... guess I better keep thinking....

Thanks for stopping by (almost Friday!)

Ohhh the paper and the image are so fun on this card! I think by making it a tri-fold, it added to its charm. :)

I like your fold. It's kinda like a gatefold only better. Super cute card.
