Like many stampers I know, I have a hard time with "guy cards". My husband jokes that he always gets "bugs" or "leaves" for his cards. Well, here is a "boat" and I can probably muster a "lighthouse" or two. Or maybe I'll just give him some nice girly flowers for the next occasion.
The ship stamp is from The Angel Company. The background is made with the wax paper technique. Basically, crumpled wax paper is ironed on to glossy paper to make a resist. Then I used a brayer to apply Colorbox Paintbox chalk inks on the diagonal. On glossy paper, if you let chalk ink dry and then buff with a tissue, it creates a shiny finish.
