Well, I'm trying to embrace the idea of ATC's.
See... I'm trained as chemical engineer and when I see things like this my brain says "yes - pretty, but what does it do?" I tend to get hung up on function. In my mind, something has to work first and then you make it pretty. And if the "pretty" interferes with the item's ability to function - then it is just wrong (is this why my house is full of shaker style furniture?).
I've been reading about ATC's and I guess I've come to grips with their function. I'm thinking of them as "art samples". Ways to showcase techniques or ideas on a smaller scale so they can be shared with others. So for my ATC's, I'm going to try playing with techniques and combining images and sayings in ways I wouldn't necessarily on a card to send to someone. Wish me luck! Maybe I'll even become an "artist" someday!
This ATC didn't photograph terribly well, the silver gel pen does not show up. But, you get the idea. The background is Ranger Alcohol Inks (Stream, Bottle and Pearl). All of the stamps are by justjohanna.
I have moved!
