Fall abundance...

Well, the vegetable garden is in serious decline. It suffered a bit from neglect this year, but we still got some good stuff out of it.


So.... what do you do with an apple tree that miraculously bears 4 bushels of decent apples after years of basically nothing but food for yellow jackets?


How about 30 (!) quarts of apple sauce and one apple pie? Here is the sauce (we ate the pie...) It took a while, but sure is yummy!






Now... what to do with the 16 (!) pumpkins, I still have not figured out.

Wow! Great way to use all those apples. You'll surely appreciate the applesauce this coming winter.

I wonder if you can freeze the pumpkin pie filling. Hmm.
