Garden Party for March 11....

Here is my inspiration piece for this week's Garden Party...

(by the way - someone asked what I meant by "Garden Party". Well, its just my name for this little weekly challenge I give myself. It sounds so much more elegant than "pick a magazine scrap out of the inspiration shoe box and desperately try to make some kind of card from it"...)

I really like the yellow color and the tiny pop of blue-green. It just looks bright and cheerful.

So here is the card I ended up with. I tried to incorporate the yellow, white and black with that small amount of blue-green. I chose the floral stamp on the yellow background to mimic the towels hanging on the wall.

I scored the background paper every 1/4" to mimic the bead board in the room. I chose a double layer of ribbon to try to capture the light in the window and the window frame.

I even managed to squeeze in my new favorite toy! My Threading Water punch - there at the bottom to capture the floor tiles.

So there is my attempt......... If anyone is interested in playing along with the challenge, just let me know and I'll start posting the inspiration piece the week before.

About this card:
Stamp: HOTP Botanical clear set, Stamping Sensations script sentiment
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Cardstock: Bazzill black and Honey(?)
Accessories: Threading Water border punch, Cuttlebug tag die, brad
