This week.... A red and white rug? Who put that in there? Sheesh.... I have to say, I almost threw this back in the shoe box and started over. But.... I suppose that would be cheating. So I sat there scowling at it for quite some time, and then came up with the following card.
I used some of my favorite justjohanna stamps to mimic the bird in the center. I love this Sleeper bird stamp and the thicket nest. I stamped the nest, masked it and then stamped the bird sitting inside. I used some justjohanna flourishes at the top for the greenery. I cut the circles using my Nestibility dies and I left paper in the die to stamp the flourishes at the top so I keft a white edge.
I edged the circle in red and popped it up on a larger circle edged in red. Initially, I had stamped the larger circle with little red leaves around the edge like the rug, but it just looked too busy.
I Cuttlebugged the red background and rubbed it with a Versamagic cloud white dew drop. The white edges are punched with the Threading Water border punch. I masked the scalloped edge and stamped some swirls from the Lizzy Anne Designs Jolie's Fleurs set.
This one was a struggle - not my favorite card of all time. But, there is always next week!
Speaking of next week, some of you said you might like to play along. So here is the picture for next Tuesday. Hmmm.... I have a whole week to ponder.

Great card using your inspiration.
You're being waaaay too hard on yourself - I actually quite like the card - it has a bit of a Persian feel to me!

Your card turned out well. The rug was a tough one. I may have to give your challenge a try next week, I have some lovely green paper that might fit the bill.
Happy Easter!
