Monday Musings.....

I was playing with the Lizzy Anne Au Natural stamp set and came up with this card.

I stamped the flower repeatedly, masking as I went along so some of the flowers appear to be behind others. I colored it with my Copics - but all I had was an extremely light purple and an extremely dark purple - so blending was a little tough.

I'm teaching a class to new stampers this week - and I was going to mention ribbon tying. I always tie mine by cutting a separate piece and tying it around the piece going across the card. The tails always lay flat, and I can slide the knot along the ribbon until I get it positioned where I want it.

I also like to use the Tombow Monoadhesive tape to hold the ribbon in place until I glue the back with something stronger. It never bleeds through to darken the color of the ribbon. This is what works for me anyway.

My musings....

Today is my 42nd birthday. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

I've had a bunch of different "jobs". I worked for a beer company (back when they had a keg of beer in the lunchroom free for employees - I kid you not!), I've formulated automotive paint (and learned to use one of those spray gun thing-ys), I supervised one of the largest industrial wastewater treatment plants in the world (on rotating 12 hour shifts - yuck, can't stand working at night), I've supervised industrial process safety at a major chemical manufacturing plant, I've been a full time Mom, I've been a part time contractor and a full time Mom.

Now I've started my own papercraft business (and I'm still a Mom - by the way) and it has been a fascinating adventure. I don't know if this is "it", but I'm really looking forward to finding out.

Have any of you figured out what you want to be? Did you know right away?

Anyway - enough of the babble. Since its my Birthday, I though a little give away might be in order. So leave a comment on this post about what your favorite ink for stamping is. One of the commenter's will win a Lizzie Anne "Happy Birthday" sentiment stamp. I'll draw the name early Monday morning.

Oh - and sorry - we sold out of the Mega Thanks stamp set this weekend but there will be more soon!

Happy Bday to you!!!!

My bday is next week and I still have not figured out what I wanna be either.

I would say my fav ink for stamping is Jet Black stazon! I do mainly watercoloring with my images and it doesn't smear :)

Have a super bday!

And no, still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Leaning towards working in a zoo more and more though....

Happy Happy Happy birthday Cathrine! Hope it's a great year.
If I grow up, I'd like to do something I can do from home (I work in a laboratory ATM) - you know - besdies being mother of 3.
My fave ink pad currently is black Versafine - it's the only one I've found to date that gives me the dark dark black I want. Plus you can emboss it, then use Copics with the stamped image........and everyone knows how into Copics I am!

Happy belated B-Day, Cathy!
My fave ink is VersaColor dew drops - rich colors, easy to ink any size stamp.
I'm on my 2nd career - pension administrator. When I grow up, I want to be a million-dollar lotto winner and thereby, a SAHM to a beagle!

Belated birthday wishes. Nothing new -- all my birthday cards are belated. Might as well make it a specialty!!!

I'm 65 and still wondering. Don't think I will ever fully make it into adulthood. Have to say I've enjoyed my extended childhood.

I love using chaulk inks. Just read about sparkly ones and can't wait to acquire bunches.

Happy Birthday to you. I had the perfect job for 6 years, being a stay at home mom. But, just this year I went back to outside the home work. Part time at a local high school, a one on one assistant.
The card looks great. My favorite ink is any that work well. I don't really have a fav. yet, I like stamping but don't have much in the way of inks. Basic black, a SU red, the colorbok circle of colors. That's it. Jenny
