It is a bright cheerful room, but there is a whole lot of color and pattern going on here. I decided to zero in on part of the picture so I used the corner of the room with the shelves of dishes to base my card on.
Here is what I came up with. I tried to mimic the shelves and dishes with the floral pattern on the yellow squares. The images are form the Lizzie Ann Jolie's Fleurs set and are colored with Prismacolor pencils. I matted them in white. I added the blue self adhesive dots to pull in the dark blue color from the glasses on the shelves.
I mounted the squares on a pink layer that I had scored on both diagonals and rubbed with a cloud white Versamagic dew drop - to try to copy the drapes. I don't know why I added the stitching - except it seemed like I needed more white.
I mounted the pink on a piece of patterned paper I had in my scrap bin - I think it is Fancy Pants? It was not quite yellow enough so I colored a couple stripes with my Copic marker. I added the ribbon and knot at the bottom to capture the blue from the pillow in the picture. Then the whole thing is mounted on Prism Intense Kiwi to mimic the walls.
So there is my attempt....
If you would like to play along next Tuesday, here is the photo. At first I thought this was brown, cream and teal - but the dark color is actually a dark burgundy. Hope the old paper stash is up for it.
Just a quick reminder of the $4 flate rate shipping sale the the Paper Garden Projects Store. 4$ shipping for any order in the US. It's good till Saturday.
