Playing with Penguins + Friday Favorites

I finally had the chance to play with the new Art Impressions Beach Bum Penguins set. I love these guys! And there are so many stamps in the set - too fun.

I paired this guy with a saying from the Impression Obsession Anytime Sayings set. The patterned paper is from the Lazy Days of Summer card kit. The kit contains patterned paper from BoBunny and cardstock from Bazzill. The ribbon is from the kit also.

All the images are colored with Copics.

This one uses all stamps from the penguin set. I love the little bucket and shovel, and the saying makes me laugh! Paper is from the same card kit.

Oh... I also wanted to mention that I used the duster brushes (with China Blue Distress Ink) to do the sky background. I just dusted from the outer edges in, avoiding the colored images. You can dust right over the sentiment. I did the same with some Vintage Photo for the edges of the sand where there was no marker.

I'm all out of "air" for my Copic airbrush system. But this method works for me - less smelly and more environmentally friendly (its not really "air" in that can....)

This last one I think would be great to send back to the office after you retire! LOL. The saying here is also from the Anytime Sentiments. More duster brushing here too.

So there is my penguin play. And there are still some uninked stamps in the set (horrors!). I guess I better back to it! The stamps are available in the Paper Garden Projects store.

Now - for Friday Favorites.....

This is a little self serving I'm afraid. I've just had it with my current method of cleaning stamps. I have an ancient old pad that is a mess and can hardly clean anything anymore. I have to clean my cleaned stamps with a paper towel after I clean them (huh?). Well, trust me its just not working.

So, before I replace it - I would really like to hear your favorite method and tools to clean stamps. Go ahead - enable me!

Fun & creative artwork! My favorite way to clean stamps is using Judikins stamp cleaner & my scrub pad. It will even handle Stazon.

The penguin cards are adorable. I love the bottom one.

I clean my stamps using Ultraclean and a two-sided Stampin' Up pad, plus a plain cleaning pad that I got from Mike's years ago.

When they get all inky, I just wash them with dishsoap and run water over them til the water runs clear.

Well after buying numerous scrub pads and cleaners, my favourite cleaner is a good old facewasher/cloth. Wet it, wring it out, sling it over the back of your chair and clean your stamps after use. I find it's even not too bad with Staz-on if done straight away. Cheap too!!

I think these penguins are soooooo cute. I'm too thrifty *ahem* to buy a cleaner pad when I can just use a toothbrush and hand soap. The only other thing I use if I'm having trouble getting the ink off is an alcohol pad (then rinse with water)...you know, the kind they sell for you to put in a first aid it.
