Scalloped sketch...

SweetMissDaisy tossed out a little challenge on her blog to create a card using the same faux scallop layout as her card sample.

Since she is a designer for Rosies Roadshow - I thought I'd used a Rosies stamp. I love Rosie's stuff - too cute. For some reason, whenever I read the Rosie sentiments - I "hear" them in the voice of Garrison Keller - the Prairie Home Companion guy. That dry, flat, serious voice. Not sure what that says about my psyche.

Anyway, since the image was so small, I had to alter the sketch somewhat. And in this case I used a My Sentiments Exactly sentiment because I don't have anything appropriate from Rosie.

I have mixed feelings about this card. I love the image and I love the "words" of the saying with the image - but the style of the sentiment does not really fit. It overwhelms the image. Hmmm... sounds like the perfect excuse to try again.

So here is a simple Fall Fluffles (Stampendous) that is pretty faithful to the sketch.
Thanks for looking!!

More Rosie cards....

Ok... just a few more Rosies Roadshow cards and then I'll move on.

I've had so much fun playing with these - I think because I just made them because I wanted to - even though I have a million other things I should be doing.

I got the idea for this card layout from one of the cards in the latest issue of "Stamp-It". I changed it up a bit, but that magazine always gives me inspiration. Just love it.

What do you think - a pile of cakes? I bet that bear could eat them all....

These are Rosie's stamps that I already had - but with all the stuff going on right now, I feel a little like this saying. Why not put it in writing!
